A man was shot dead Sunday in North Richmond, according to the Contra Costa County sheriff’s office.
Deputies took to Twitter at 12:50 p.m. to report the homicide, which they say occurred around 1:45 a.m. near Market Avenue and Fred Jackson Way.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, was taken to Kaiser Medical Center in Richmond, where he later died, deputies said.
Deputies have not yet identified the man. An investigation is ongoing, they said.
