Arrests Made After Motorcyclists Do ‘Donuts,' Pop ‘Wheelies' Across East Bay Roadways

Multiple people were arrested for taking part in sideshow activity that crossed over multiple Bay Area cities on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Droves of motorcyclists could be seen doing "donuts" and popping "wheelies" on city streets and area highways during the afternoon hours.

CHP officers were first alerted about the sideshow activity just before 1 p.m. Roughly 200 motorcycles along with a truck filming the stunts were reported to be in the area of southbound Interstate 880 and Hegenberger Road, according to the CHP.

Officers tried to stop some of the motorcyclists, but the group of riders drove onto Highway 92 via Hesperian Boulevard, according to the CHP. A pursuit ensued before being discontinued in Redwood City.

One motorcycle was eventually found by CHP officers in the Redwood City area, according to the CHP. One suspect was taken into custody for reckless driving.

Another group of motorcyclists continued to perform sideshow activity along Interstate 580 in the East Bay, according to the CHP.

Officers followed the group "as they sped through through city streets, terrorizing the innocent motoring public, causing an inconvenience to many who were traveling at this time," according to the CHP.

Four people were eventually arrested for reckless driving and felony evasion of law enforcement officers, according to the CHP.
