A 2.2 earthquake shook the Richter scale near Oakland early Wednesday morning.
The tremor shook at 9:58 a.m. about two kilometers northwest of Oakland and one kilometer southwest of Piedmont.
The earthquake was three miles in depth, according to the United States Geological Service and there were no early reports of damage.
