The Oakland Tribune reported Wednesday that the man who stole the 2-year pit bull mix from the East Bay SPCA on Sunday, returned the dog to another rescue group.

The dog, Daisymae, is now back home in the Oakland shelter where she has lived since being brought in as a stray in November. She had some scratches but was otherwise unharmed, the newspaper reported.

Daisymae was taken while being exercised at the shelter's adoption center. A man had stopped the volunteer who was walking Daisymae and asked several questions about her. When the volunteer turned to continue the walk, the man grabbed the dog, threw her into his waiting car and sped away. No arrests have been made.
