A soccer player was stabbed in the leg during an argument with another man at a field in San Francisco's Mission District on Monday afternoon, police said.

The men were playing soccer around 1 p.m. Monday at a field near 25th and Harrison streets when they got into a fight.

During the fight, the 25-year-old victim was stabbed in the thigh. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injury, according to police.

The suspect, believed to be around 30 years old, fled and had not been found as of this morning.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is encouraged to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
