Southwest Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at San Jose Airport

The pilot of flight 2581, which departed from Burbank, reported mechanical difficulties.

A Southwest Airlines plane made an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon at Mineta San Jose International Airport.

Officials said the pilot of Southwest flight 2581 from Burbank reported mechanical difficulties. The plane landed safely just after 3 p.m. 

There were 101 people onboard the plane, officials said.

Emergency crews also responded to the scene.

No other information was immediately available.
