Stanford Basketball Fans Thrilled With Win Over No. 2 Kansas in March Madness Tournament

The Cardinal were ranked No. 10 heading into Sunday's game.

Stanford joined the upset party by taking down No. 2 Kansas Sunday in the March Madness tournament, and Cardinal fans are thrilled with the outcome.

The Cardinal were ranked No. 10 heading into the game but beat the Jayhawks 60-57. This is the team's first Sweet 16 since 2008.

Fans at Stanford were thrilled with the trip to the Sweet 16. Cardinal basketball was the talk of the town Sunday afternoon, even though many fans admit their brackets are now busted.

Stanford basketball fans said it was well worth upsetting No. 2 Kansas, and the upset was what makes March Madness so much fun.

"I'm really excited. I think it's awesome," one fan said. "The team had an up-and-down season, but it's awesome to see them making some waves in the tournament."

Although it's a tough road ahead for Stanford, some fans remain optimistic.

"It’s really great, and actually, they're up against Dayton, so I don’t want to count my chickens, but potentially, there could be more," another excited Cardinal fan said. "Potentially there could be more. This is all I am saying."

"I think it’s the Stanford strength of character that has gotten them this far, and I wish them all the success," another fan.

The Cardinal will move on to play Dayton next, and if they win, they will be in the Elite 8.
