Warriors' Stephen Curry Confident in Healing Knee

OAKLAND - Stephen Curry went through another full practice with the Warriors on Sunday and in the process made a statement:

He’s feeling good enough.

Good enough to go through drills without the protective brace on his right knee, though he still feels the effects of the MCL sprain sustained on April 24.

"No brace today," Curry said. "Just giving it some breathing room."

Curry also felt good enough to throw down a dunk to punctuate his post-practice shooting session.

The MVP wanted to make it clear that his tender knee no longer is worthy of discussion. He’ll answer questions about it, but he’d rather talk about the Western Conference Finals against Oklahoma City, beginning Monday night.

"I’m pretty confident going into the series that I can be effective on the floor doing everything that I want to do and play the way I normally play," Curry said.

"Honestly, it hasn’t gotten much better in the last week. But it hasn’t gotten worse, either. I’m all right with that."

In two games since returning in Game 4 of the conference semifinals, Curry has scored 69 points (40 and 29), shooting 50 percent in both games. After missing his first nine 3-pointers coming off the bench in Game 4, Curry has made 10 of 18 (55.6 percent) from beyond the arc.

"I’m past the point of where pain can shut things down," he said. "But it is still there. You probably won’t hear me talk about it much after this. I’ll be out there playing, so it’s nothing to worry about."
