Police say a car that crashed into a San Jose house may be linked to a home invasion robbery. Bob Redell reports.

Police believe it was a random attack.

After the assault, the pair hopped into the couple's SUV, Morales said. The California Highway Patrol noticed the vehicle had made an "unsafe lane change" and began following it as the driver exited at the next offramp at Capitol Expressway then turned south onto Senter Road.

When the driver turned on Singleton Road, the CHP said he lost control and crashed into the garage of the home, which was vacant. Two CHP officers drew their guns, aiming them at the crashed SUV. The 15-year-old passenger was stuck inside and was arrested. The driver, who may be between 17 and 25 years old, ran way.

Witness Lucy Quintero described the scene as tense.

"Oh my God, I thought they were going to shoot him," she said.

Police are still looking for the driver, last seen bleeding and hopping over a fence.
