The latest discovery of damage from last week's heavy storm is pushing back work on the so-called "SMART" train station in San Rafael.
Flooding washed away part of the project's foundation, which has forced engineers to re-evaluate their work.
Last week, a heavy storm that dumped down on the Bay Area caused the location of a station for the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit in San Rafael to resemble a big, muddy pool.
The re-evaluation and proper draining of the stations could take months. Still, officials do not anticipate any delays on the opening.
The $428 million SMART train will connect the Santa Rosa Airport with the Ferry Terminal in Larkspur.
