Santa Clara police are putting out the word tonight there have been a rash of residential burglaries in the past week.
Since July 13, six occupied homes have been victimized by night time robbers.
Police say in every case the robber or robbers have entered the home through an unlocked door or window and then slipped out with things that are easy to carry away like lap tops and computer games.
Police don't have any descriptions, but are warning people to keep their doors and windows locked even on hot nights.
Investigators say most of the crimes have happened in the early morning hours in the southern part of the city.
