A 33-year-old man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly stabbed another man to death in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, according to police.
The stabbing was reported at 6:49 p.m. in the 400 block of Minna Street. A man in his 30s or 40s was found there suffering multiple stab wounds to his torso. Despite live-saving measures, he was pronounced dead there, police said.
The victim's name has not been released pending notification of his family.
A suspect was seen leaving the area after the stabbing. At 11:55 p.m., officers patrolling the area of Fifth and Bryant streets saw a man matching the suspect's description and detained him, police said.
Homicide investigators interviewed the man, identified as 33-year-old Antonio Taylor, and he was eventually booked into jail on suspicion of murder, possession of heroin and an outstanding traffic warrant, police said.
