Tahoe Queen Off Limits

In the Christmas season of 2008, Tahoe picked up 12 feet of snow in 13 days.

Operators are gutting parts of the Tahoe Queen to refurbish its hull.
Aramark Parks director Austin Sass says the job involves taking out a walk-in freezer and several kitchen grilles to make room for repairs that should be finished by May.
The Tahoe Queen is due for a major inspection by the U. S. Coast Guard that comes once every five years.
Sass says a dozen boatmen were offered other resort jobs with the Tahoe Queen laid up for repairs.
The Mississippi-style paddlewheel boat normally offers year-round cruises at Lake Tahoe.
