Taiwanese Dumpling Restaurant Din Tai Fung Opens in Valley Fair

Popular Taiwanese dumpling house Din Tai Fung will open the first Northern California location at Westfield Valley Fair this week.

The Taiwan-based chain has four locations in Southern California and two in Washington. The menu for the American locations includes standard dim sum fare as well as unusual offerings like silk squash and shrimp dumplings and pork rice steamed buns. It is chiefly known for its soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao).

According to Eater SF, opening day is Tuesday and lines are expected despite having 200 seats, something the restaurant hopes to alleviate by offering to send a text message when your table is ready.
