A 16-year-old boy is hospitalized after he was shot late Thursday in San Jose, police said.

The shooting was reported in the 900 block of Boynton Ave., near Boynton High School and just south of Interstate 280.

Police said three male suspects possibly fled the area in a red car.

An investigation is ongoing and no other information was immediately available.

Thursday night's shooting follows an apparent road-rage shooting reported in the morning.

The possible road-rage shooting took place around 9:50 a.m. at Capitol Expressway and Copperfield Drive, about a half-mile east of state Highway 87. Police said there was one victim in the shooting, a man who suffered non-life threatening injuries.
