Teen Shot Overnight in San Jose

A Feb. 19, 2012, shooting in East San Jose has put a 19-year-old in the hospital.

A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot overnight in East San Jose.

The call came into 911 around midnight -- shots fired in the area of Santa Clara and 24th streets.

Officers arrived but couldn't find any victim. It wasn't until about an hour later that friends drove him to the hospital, suffering from at least one gunshot wound that is considered to be life threatening.

Police have not made any arrests nor have they identified any suspects.

They have blocked off several blocks around the sight of the shooting, but won't say whether that means they believe the shooter is hiding inside that perimeter.
