Teen Stabbed, Seriously Injured at San Jose Park

A 16-year-old boy taken to a hospital after a reported stabbing at Marijane Hamann Park in west San Jose has been upgraded to serious, but stable condition, officials said.

Police were dispatched Tuesday afternoon at 2:56 p.m. to the park at 2747 Westfield Ave., near Del Mar High School, about a report of a young male who was stabbed, San Jose police spokeswoman Sgt. Heather Randol said.

Police on the scene said the teenage victim is expected to survive. He was apparently walking home from school.

“I was told the victims were confronted by multiple suspects,” Lt. Rick Weger said. “That's when the stabbing occurred.”

The suspect or suspects left the area before police could arrive, Randol said.
