Morgan Hill Teen Drunk, Texting In Fiery Crash

A teen survived a crash but is in trouble with the law.

The 19-year old Morgan Hill woman who had to be pulled from her burning vehicle by emergency personnel was drunk, texting, and speeding, according to reports.

Brianna Delaney crashed her 2006 Mercury into a tree at 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday, the Santa Cruz Sentinel reported. She was driving on East Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz at more than 45 miles per hour when she lost control of her vehicle, the California Highway Patrol told reporters.

She was under the influence of alcohol, and she was also texting. She was pulled from the car via the back seat as the vehicle burned, the newspaper reported.

She was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. Upon her release, she was booked on suspicion of DUI.
