Teen's Kidnapping In Martinez Deemed Hoax: Sheriff

Officials in a California town say they have arrested two men after the kidnapping of a 17-year-old girl appeared to be a hoax.

The Contra Costa Times reports that Contra Costa Sheriff's Office Lt. Ian Hebert says deputies interviewed the teenage girl but she denies being a victim of anything.

Sgt. Enrique Henriquez says someone reported seeing a girl forced into a truck at gunpoint in Martinez Saturday afternoon. Deputies searched the area and found the truck in Walnut Creek.
Henriquez says they found two men in the truck and a third a short distance away with the girl.

According to Hebert, deputies found drugs on two of the men and arrested them, while the third was detained and released.

Their identification and charges weren't immediately available Sunday evening.
