Tesla Aces Edmonds' Driving Tests

Model S dead-stop, zero-to-60 mph beats company's expectations.

When Edmonds' Inside Line took the Tesla Model S out for an intense spin review, the driver's feelings going in were that the company had bragged a little on its speed from 0-60 mph.

The tricked-out, $100,000+ Model S beat its own expectations, doing 0-60 in 4.35 seconds.

Something not mentioned in the video review, but pointed out on Tesla's own blog, is that the test model was fully loaded -- replete with its rear-facing seats, premium sound system and second battery charger. "This was opposite of what manufacturers normally do," the blog reads.

"As Tesla's first real prodution car, we're impressed," the reviews says at the end of the video. This test drive was all about speed. Next up: battery life and driving distance.
