Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Twitter Wednesday that it's time to "unveil the D and something else," leading to immediate speculation on social media about what "D" could be.
The comments rolled in on Twitter — some more absurd than others — about the mystery "D."
At one point, Musk himself tweeted in response to all the comments:
I love the Internet. Comments had me literally ROFL. No, it wasn't intentional. Glad I didn't mention the other letter! — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 2, 2014
Shares for Tesla soared after Musk's tweet. So far, little else has emerged about the announcement — except that it could be another Tesla model. Stay tuned for Tesla's announcement on Oct. 9.
