Tesla's new Model S shows off its wheels.

Touted as "the electric car from the ground up," Tesla's Model S has been on pre-order for almost a year -- and now it's in quality testing, a final phase before production and delivery.

Elon Musk's electric car company is looking to deliver the world's first luxury electric sedan later in 2012, but reports of incremental progress are gobbled up by an eager public -- at least in Silicon Valley -- and the below video is, admittedly, built to further pique interest.

The vid has Tesla's Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen and Vice President of Sales and Ownership Experience George Blankenship. They discuss how Tesla is reimagining the sedan, with a lower center of gravity, adding stability to the overall drive with "meticulous design and unrivaled driving dynamics."
