The Bay Bridged Celebrates 10 Years; Turns to Crowdfunding for Events

After 10 years of operation, nonprofit music and arts organization The Bay Bridged is crowdfunding in order to produce more music events and podcasts and become a more competitive media outlet.

An Indiegogo campaign seeks to raise $25,000 in the next 33 days. The funds raised will help the volunteer-staffed organization to produce more concerts such as the annual Phono del Sol festival and more podcasts (which are syndicated on KQED). Achieving the goal would also allow for an increased editorial budget to pay journalists market rates.

A wide range of rewards are being offered for making donations, starting at a digital download of "The Bay Bridged 10th Anniversary Compilation," which is loaded with 42 rare and unreleased tracks from local artists, for $15 and soaring up to a sailboat tailgate party for eight people in McCovey Cove during a Giants game for $5,000.

The Bay Bridged will also host a Giving Tuesday cocktail party and raffle as a fundraiser at San Francisco bar Cease and Desist (2331 Mission Street) on December 1; tickets are $60-250.
