Masood was born in Britain and was known to intelligence services, the prime minister said Thursday. Theresa May, who didn't disclose the man's name, said that he was once investigated for extremism links, but was considered a peripheral figure.

Kurt W. Cochran was killed by the attacker, who killed one other person with his car on Westminster Bridge and then stabbed a police officer to death outside of Parliament Wednesday afternoon. "Our family is heartbroken to learn of the death of our son-in-law, Kurt W. Cochran, who was a victim of Wednesday's terrorist attack in London," the statement said.
