Thousands Take Part in San Jose's Veterans Day Run

Thousands of people joined a nationwide salute to the men and women in the military Sunday in San Jose.

They took part in the National Veterans Day Run on the Guadalupe River Trail.

They joined about 25,000 others across the nation in what was called the country's largest National Veterans Day Run. Some walked the course.

In addition to showing support for the military, the run also raised funds for veteran's causes and brought back memories for some vets.

"It was fun, and it brought me back to those boot camp days," Army veteran Monica Flores said. I felt like starting a cadence out there and get everyone in step. It was just amazing running with other fellow military people."

The money raised in San Jose's race went to the Folds of Honor Foundation.
