Three Small Quakes Hit Berkeley Area

Three small quakes - with the largest holding at a magnitude 3.2 - struck early Tuesday about two miles from Berkeley's Tilden Park,  with residents feeling the rumbling as far away as San Francisco and all over the East Bay.

The USGS reported the first quake at 1:07 a.m.,with two smaller ones reported at magnitudes of 2.7 at 2:06 a.m. and 2.6 at 2:15 a.m..

People tweeted and posted on NBC Bay Area's Facebook page and that they felt something in Hercules, Richmond, Rodeo, Benicia, Oakland Hills, Treasure Island.

No injuries or damage was reported, but Teresa Brandy posted: "Yup, in Richmond, shook me out of my sleep."
