Toddler Found Alone in East Bay Parking Lot

A toddler found wandering a Wal-Mart parking lot in a t-shirt and diaper will be reunited with his mother later today.

According to Pleasanton police, the mother had recently moved to an apartment complex that is designed for ease-of-use for disabled persons -- with low-hung door latches, easy for a 2-year-old to open.

Police responded to the Wal-Mart on Rosewood Drive at 3 a.m. and found the boy.

NBC Bay Area's Bob Redell reports that the boy was found pointing at a McDonalds restaurant, asking for French fries.

Sgt. Maria Munayer said the mother will be reunited with the boy after the proper paperwork is completed.
