The San Francisco Police Officer's Association announced it is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two suspects who robbed a 44-year-old British tourist last month after the victim died Thursday from stab wounds he suffered during the brutal attack.
Around 10:55 p.m., the victim died while at San Francisco General Hospital and police are now investigating the case as a homicide, police said.
"We ask that anyone with information about this case come forward and help us identify the suspect to help us in our mission to protect all San Franciscans and every visitor to our city," President of the SFPOA Martin Halloran said in a statement.
The robbery occurred on Feb. 18 around 8:30 p.m. The victim was walking on Post Street, near Franklin Street, with his niece when an unknown male and female attacked the pair, according to police.
The suspects grabbed the man's bag, which contained cash, credit cards, a cellphone and the victim's passport.
When the victim held on to his bag, the male suspect stabbed the victim in the head with a knife, police said.

The suspects then fled on foot with the bag.
The male suspect is described as a man in his 30s or 40s with a muscular build, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He wore a dark hoodie and blue jeans, according to police.
The female suspect is described as a black woman in her late 20s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall with long dreadlocks or braids worn in a ponytail, police said.
