The South Bay welcomed a new successful business with the grand opening of Bass Pro Shops in San Jose, just along Almaden Expressway.
The opening late Wednesday featured a fundraiser, 49ers great Dwight Clark and an influx of cars coming to an already busy part of town.
San Jose's latest tourist attraction is expected to generate more traffic in the area.
The giants sporting goods store set to open will have hundreds of employees and bring tens of thousands of people to the Almaden Expressway and Cherry Avenue intersection, known to be a highly traveled and congested area.
San Jose's planning commission have been preparing for the increase in traffic and required specific conditions that had to be met before Bass Pro could move in.
Some of the conditions the city required was widening of northbound Highway 85, Frontage Road improvements and traffic signal improvement.
