Twitter CEO Could Join @BarackObama

Twitter's CEO is on President Barack Obama's twitterfeed.

Dick Costolo has been named as one of the president's potential appointees to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.

The CEO of Twitter took over the San Francisco-based micro-blogging site last October after serving as the company's COO. Before that he worked for Google.

The National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee is tasked with protecting the country's telecommunications infrastructure.

If selected, Costolo would join a prestigious list of tech leaders on the committee, including another potential Bay Area product.

Last week Mr. Obama also appointed another Bay Area product to a national post. The president selected San Francisco Symphony President John Goodman for the Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
