Lost in the unveiling of Twitter's new look last week was details of the company's new office.
The San Francisco-based micro-blogging site is moving blocks away from its current location to a revamped 220,000-square-foot office space in Mid-Market.
Company Chairman Jack Dorsey and CEO Dick Costolo gave the media a tour last week of the building, which is still under construction, before announcing the new look for Twitter.
"A bit of history. Our new Twitter HQ finished construction in 1937. The same year another Art Deco SF icon opened: the Golden Gate Bridge," Dorsey tweeted after touring the office.
Along with tax breaks from the City, Twitter's new building will also have some fancy accommodations for its employees.
Twitter is completely gutting the building and setting it up to its liking. Perhaps the centerpiece of the new office will be a large open-air roof top garden for employees and for events.
Costolo said the company is removing the seventh floor on the western side of the building and setting up the garden on the sixth floor.
The San Francisco Chronicle has renderings of what the garden will look like and some other mock-ups of the building.
Twitter is expecting to move into its new digs by summer 2012.
