As soon as the news came down from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals that the stay was lifted and that same-sex marriages could resume in the state of California, reaction on Twitter was quick to follow.
The first couple to marry were the lead plaintiffs in the U.S. Supreme Court case that overturned the state's same-sex marriage ban. Kris Perry and Sandy Stier tied the knot at San Francisco City Hall late Friday afternoon.
