All lanes have reopened on state Highway 85 in San Jose following an injury accident Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers responded to a report of a multi-vehicle accident on northbound Highway 85 just south of Almaden Expressway around 12:45 p.m., CHP Officer Ross Lee said.
The accident involved a small red Honda Civic and red Ford SUV, he said.
A Chevy SUV and dark Acura may have also been involved in the accident, according to Lee.
Police said the crash sparked a car fire. First responders rescued four people trapped in the burning vehicle.
Two people were transported to the hospital with major injuries, said CHP Officer Eric Anderson.
A Sig-alert was issued at 1:05 p.m. closing all three northbound lanes that reopened at 2:17 p.m., CHP officials said.
