Two grass fires have erupted in Marin County this afternoon. Marin County fire crews have just contained the flames off of U.S. Highway 101 near Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Marin and near Read Ranch Road in Tiburon.
Marin fire crews contained the two-alarm grass fire in Tiburon, which was not a threat to any homes, according to a California High Way Patrol officer.
North and southbound U.S. Highway 101 off-ramps at the Greenbrae-Larkspur border were briefly closed becuase of the fire in Marin which was a threat to the houses in the area, according to the officer. The ramps were reopend at 4:17 p.m., however westbound Sir Francis Drake Boulevard remains closed.
Fire danger remains high tonight because of dry conditions, according to the officer.
