U2 Headlining Concert for Bay Area Children's Hospitals

Twenty-two-time Grammy-winning band U2 is headed to the Bay Area and they are poised to effort a good cause.

As part of the seventh annual Concert for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, the Ireland-based group will be headlining an October gig that will raise money for pediatric care and research, according to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals.

Tickets, which start at $1,000, are currently available for the 7 p.m. show on October 5 at the Cow Palace in Daly City. Proceeds from ticket sales along with outside sponsorships will directly benefit UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals.

Not to be outdone, pop artists will.i.am and MC Hammer will be hosting an after party to keep the donation celebration going, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals said.

During previous benefit concerts, notable artists including Bruno Mars and Green Day have rocked the stage, according to the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.
