A Union City resident was taking out the trash early Sunday morning when she discovered a body in her trash can.
The man, later identified as Union City resident Joseph Perez, was taken to a local hospital where he died. His sister told NBC Bay Area that he was a good brother and a good son. "He didn't deserve to be in a trash can," she said.
Police said he had been out drinking on the night he died. Police also noted how cold it was on the evening that he died.
