Union Square Jewelry Store Robbed Days After Tiffany's Heist

Two days after armed robbers held up the Tiffany & Co. store at the Westfield San Francisco Centre last week, three armed men robbed another jewelry store near Union Square, police revealed Monday.

The suspects walked into the store in the 500-block of Sutter Street last Friday afternoon and ordered all the employees to get down on the ground, authorities said. They then emptied the safes and display cases.

Witnesses said the trio then exited Tina’s Jewelry, jumped into a light colored SUV and took off. The store was closed Monday.

The heist follows the robbery of the Tiffany’s store on Market Street. In that case, the suspects also had all the employees hit the ground and grabbed jewels.

There is no indication the two cases are connected, police said.
