A Paris-bound flight that departed from San Francisco International Airport Monday afternoon was forced to turn around due to a mechanical issue, officials said.
The plane, United flight 990, landed safely at SFO at about 6:15 p.m.
Around 7 p.m. airport personnel said crews were swapping out the aircraft in an effort to get passengers back on their way to Paris. The new flight was slated to depart about 11 p.m.
No other information was immediately available.
