University of California students could be getting an early Christmas present this year--no tuition hike.
The tuition freeze still needs approval for the 2014-15 academic year.
The proposal comes a year after the passage of Proposition 30, which spares the UC a $250 million mid-year funding cut.
It also assumes another $26 million in revenue from out-of-state student tuition.
The UC will discuss the proposed tuition freeze next week.
