A 27-year-old San Jose man was identified as the victim in a weekend fatal fight on the Las Vegas strip the morning after the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department said.
The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Dashawn Antwon Fouch Hawkins, Fox Las Vegas reported. The cause and manner of his death are still unknown.
Police are looking for the occupants of the two vehicles that were in the valet area of the Paris Hotel at the time of the incident.
Police were called to the Paris Hotel around 4:20 a.m. on May 3 to investigate a report of an injured man down on the ground. Officers arrived to find the man suffering from an apparent head injury in the valet area and transported him to the UMC Trauma Center where he was later pronounced dead.
An investigation by the police department’s violent crimes and homicide sections indicate the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another man, during which he was punched, then fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Detectives are asking anyone who might have witnessed the altercation to come forward. They have released pictures of the two vehicles that left the scene following the incident.
One vehicle, which had a male driver and a female passenger, was described as a red smaller 4-door crossover type vehicle that had a sun roof or a moon roof. The second vehicle was described as a 4-door white Chevrolet Impala with a sun roof that was driven by a female.
