Victim Posted to Facebook Hours Before Shooting Death

The 21-year-old man was found dead near the Bay Bridge Friday.

A man who was found fatally shot in San Francisco near the Bay Bridge early this morning was an active Facebook user, posting several messages on the social networking site in the hours before his death.

Diondre Young, 21, was found dead near Main and Harrison streets by officers who responded at 2:33 a.m. to reports of a dead body.

Young, a San Francisco resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His last few Facebook posts seemed to portend his death. In one posted around 8 p.m. Thursday, he wrote, "seeing mi peope put 2 rest gotta nigga mind stressed with that iron and a vest knowing mi time could be next."

Young's last post, put up on the site later Thursday night, was a link to the song "Life or Death" by the rapper C-Murder.

Young also wrote earlier Thursday about wanting to get the name of his girlfriend tattooed on him.

His girlfriend, a San Francisco woman, posted several distraught messages today about Young's death on her Facebook profile, as well as a picture of the couple. She later removed her profile from public view.

Police have not released any suspect information or motive in connection with the shooting.

Anyone with information about Young's death is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
