Video: Campbell Mom Starts Rolling When Porn Audio Plays Over Target PA System

"What is going on at Target right now?"

Gina Young was shopping with her 3-year-old twins at a Target store in San Jose, California, on Wednesday morning when the audio track from a pornographic movie began playing over the intercom.

The boys started crying and the mom from Campbell started shooting video, which has since racked up at least a quarter-million views on Facebook alone.

When the audio started inexplicably playing over the store’s public address system, Young wrote on Facebook, “People offered to help me cover my twins [sic] ears. Others threw there [sic] stuff down and walked out. Employees were running around everywhere. Picking and hanging up phones, which worked....for about two minutes before it started up again.”

Other customers started screaming at Target employees as the X-rated soundtrack blared, shooting video with their phones and laughing in disgust, Young said.

“It was terribly awkward," she said.

Target shopper Bethany Curran said the audio could be heard in every aisle of the store for about 15 minutes. Curran said it was filled with racist and sexist language. “I just kept looking around and seeing all these employees laughing, getting their phones out, not doing much,” she said.

A Target spokesperson said customers who complained received an apology and the company is investigating the incident “to better understand what happened and to help ensure this doesn’t happen again.” It is unclear whether intercom system was hacked or if an employee inside the store was responsible.

Young and Curran both said they plan to shop at Target again, but they are asking for a another, sincere apology.

This is not the first report of pornographic audio at Target. A similar incident reportedly occurred at a store in San Luis Obispo back in July.
