After Ryan Madson blew the save in the ninth, the Oakland A's rallied to beat the Texas Rangers 8-5 on Khris Davis' third home run of the night, a walk-off grand slam to left.
Madson was one out away from ending the game in the ninth, but Ian Desmond connected for a two-run home run into the left field bleachers.
In the bottom of the ninth, Stephen Vogt led off with an infield single and moved to third on a double by Coco Crisp. After Billy Burns popped out, Josh Reddick was intentionally walked. Danny Valencia had a chance to play hero, but flew out to right. Davis came up and crushed a grand slam to left for his third home run of the game.
Valencia continued his hot streak when he launched a solo home run in the second inning. It's the A's third baseman's sixth home run in the last five games. He also drove in a run in the seventh inning with a single to right that scored Coco Crisp from second base.
Davis hit two solo homers earlier in the game. The grand slam moved him past Marcus Semien for the team-lead with 11.
Jesse Hahn, who was recalled from Triple-A earlier in the day, gave up 10 hits and three earned runs in 6.2 innings pitched. He walked one and struck out two.
