Water Rescue in Menlo Park Near Facebook HQ

Menlo Park fire crews had to rescue eight people from the bay near Facebook headquarters after their boat apparently sprung a leak.

It happened just before 9 a.m. The incident was reported at 2005 Willow Road, near the Bayfront Expressway.

The fire chief says the boat was overloaded, with eight passengers instead of five, and no one was wearing a life preserver.

The passengers were apparently part of a marine project doing a water reclamation study.
