The East Bay is getting a new Whole Foods.
On May 18, Lafayette will become the home to the fifth Whole Foods store in the East Bay.
A new 25,000-square-foot organic grocery story will open at 3502 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in downtown Lafayette near the McCaulou’s Department Store.
Whole Foods took over the building in 2007 and announced plans to open at store by 2009 but delays pushed the opening back until later this month.
The grocer already has stores in Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Berkeley and in Oakland.
