Whoopi Goldberg Lists Berkeley Property for $1.275 Million

Whoopi Goldberg hopes to sell a Victorian house and converted barn in Berkeley, California, that she has owned for 30 years.

Purchased in 1985 under her birth name Caryn Johnson, the property at 2212 McKinley Ave. is listed by Thornwall Properties for $1.275 million.

The listing describes the 1,455-square-foot, three-bedroom house as an 1890 Victorian with "soaring ceilings" and "exquisite details." The two-story, 1,650-square-foot cottage behind it is not zoned to be a legal living space, but photos make it appear habitable, at least as a guest space.

Other amenities include a library, eat-in kitchen and detached garage with space for five vehicles.

Berkeleyside noted that, while it is not clear whether Goldberg ever lived on the property, the city is the place where she first developed "The Spook Show," her one-woman production that eventually led to her big break on Broadway.

According to IMDB, Goldberg is in the midst of an active production year: She is listed as being a part of (or rumored to be a part of) at least six films in 2015.
