Wine Thieves Steal From “Plumed Horse,” Ritzy Saratoga Restaurant

Santa Per Santa Clara Sheriff’s deputies are trying to find the wine thieves that busted into the ritzy Plumed Horse restaurant in Saratoga and stole several bottles of wine.

The call about the theft came in Monday morning, and staff at the restaurant at 14555 Big Basin Way told deputies that a window was broken. Deputies believe the crime was committed sometime after midnight on Sunday.

The wine list on the restaurant's website states there are 1,800 wines from California, France and all over the world on hand.

It's unclear how many bottles were stolen and what brands, but at least one bottle of wine sold there - Louis Roedere "Cristal" Champagne Millennium - sells for about $42,000 a bottle.

People at the restaurant declined to comment.
