Woman Escapes Sausalito Rockslide

A woman on her way home from work was lucky to avoid being hurt after her car slipped through a rock slide that closed three lanes of southbound Highway 101 in Sausalito early Tuesday morning.

May Mui's car sustained some damage with all four tires blown out, but she did not go to the hospital when the rocks slide down the hillside about 2:15 a.m.

"I came up over the hill and didn't see the rockslide," she told NBC Bay Area. "It popped the airbag."

Caltrans workers cleared the road and all lanes were reopened by 3:45 a.m.

The rocky hillside has a long history of similar slides, the most recent was last March.
