Woman Fatally Struck After Falling Off Motorcycle on 91 Freeway

A 22-year-old woman riding on a motorcycle was killed when she fell off the bike and was struck by a car Sunday on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Long Beach.

The death on the westbound 91, east of Cherry Avenue, occurred at 2:11 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.

A 2001 Suzuki was moving westbound in the No. 5 lane when the woman, a resident of Long Beach, fell off the motorcycle and onto the No. 4 lane of traffic, where she was struck by a 2001 Toyota.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:28 a.m., the CHP reported.

The CHP's Santa Fe Springs office asked anyone who saw the fatality to call (562) 868-0503.
