Woman Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision in San  Jose early Tuesday, according to police. Shortly after 1 a.m., police raced to the intersection of Monterey Road and Bellevue Avenue to find that a vehicle had struck a woman, and the driver had taken off. Marla Tellez reports.

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision in San  Jose early Tuesday, according to police.

Shortly after 1 a.m., police raced to the intersection of Monterey Road and Bellevue Avenue to find that a vehicle had struck a woman, and the driver had taken off.
   
The woman was taken to a hospital but she died about 1:50 a.m., police said.

Police said it appeared as though the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by some sort of dark-colored vehicle.
   
Police are now searching for the driver and the vehicle.
